The rise of the creative class

I have been reading an interesting book called The Rise of the Creative Class by Richard Florida. The book is about how there is a new social class defined by creativity and it is transforming work, leisure, community and everyday life. This new class of people is defined by those whose economic function is to create new ideas, new technology and new creative content and in general this group shares common characteristics, such as creativity, individuality, diversity, and merit. As a designer and someone who falls into this class it is an interesting and thoughtful read.
