My own Little Big Planet

Back in April of this year I wrote about the upcoming PS3 exclusive video game called Little Big Planet that was being created by a small development shop called Media Molecule. I found the game fascinating because it took the concept of user generated content and brought it to people of all ages through the core gameplay of being able to create your own characters and levels in the game. To my surprise and delight I came home from work today to an email inviting me to take part in the beta testing program for the game that won’t be available to the public until October 21st. I entered the invite code and thanks to FIOS a few minutes later I had the game fired up and from the intro sequence on I loved it. It visual style looks like you are playing a Pixar movie and it’s simple to controls give way to a deep interface that let’s you create about anything you can think to create. I have just scratched the surface on creating objects and levels in the world and will write a longer entry once I have been able to spend more quality time with the game.
