Here are the things that I think are worth reading and checking out this week:
A collection of screenshots of some of the best, most beautiful Android apps to give you inspiration and insight into Android UI conventions which can be challenging to say the least. Check out the site here.
In the design of physical spaces I have aways been intrigued by LED light bulbs but always hated the cold quality of their light. So the new LIFX light bulbs look to fix that problem but then go a step further by letting you change the color of the bulbs through an iPhone app. Learn all about them here.
I am constantly looking for new and interesting ways to prototype desktop web and mobile experiences and this week I came across The Layout Lab which is an interesting collection of Photoshop elements for web and mobile prototyping. While programs like OmniGraffle or Visio may be faster these tools provide a nice level of design finish to your prototypes. You can watch a video about it here, read about the mobile UI kit here, the web UI kit here and download samples of both here.
