AKQA just released a really nice design for the first US iPad app for the World Wildlife Fund called WWF Together. The app focuses on 8 different animals but they have said that new species will be added regularly. For each animal users can see photography, editorial content, video and downloadable origami folding instructions. The content comes to life through simple but very well designed interactions like wiping sea ice to reveal polar bear facts, chopping the panda’s bamboo and using the iPad’s camera to simulate a tigers vision. The app is free and worth a look to see some of the well executed design and imaginative interface designs.
