My respect of Behance founder Scott Belsky is deep and well documented and I really like his latest article that look at why all companies should be concerned with the risks and opportunities that now face the creative industry.

Amazon has grown at breakneck speed over the past decade and brought in nearly $75 billion last year, thanks to the unconventional, and sometimes ruthless style of its chief executive. This article lays out five strategies that their founder Jeff Bezos used to build the Amazon empire.

Building a compelling digital brand story

There are a few different interesting parts to this article. The first is that it is a really good article that outlines the tenets of how to build authority and storytelling form any brand which I think this is a vastly underused aspect of brand building. But the even more interesting part of the article is the embedded video interview with Angela Ahrendts from Burberry for the Future if Storytelling 2013. I love what they have been doing with their brand over the last few years with genius moves in branding, digital and in-store experiences. This video is the best one i have seen that looks in to what was behind and what went into that transformation.

How To Be A Design Boss Without Losing Your Soul

One of the biggest struggles I have seen through out my career is watching a designer move to become an art director and then an art director move to become a creative director. The challenge is that each of those steps requires a complete new set of skills from what made you unsuccessful in your past role. This article has some simp but I think effective starting points that you can use when you find yourself having to lead other designers and creatives.
